here is one reason, Transmission Sensors went out, carry a spare set of sensors along with a 1″ six point deep well socket along with 3/8 drive small ratchet in your car.

Located on the Driver’s Side rear wheel area

The Input and  Output sensor used to be manufactured in brass but later was manufactured in plastic.

Dealers say they have been replacing a number of them lately due to heat failure.

The plastic thermal characteristics are not as good as the brass ones were.

If your transmission goes into limp mode the engine light comes on but the speedometer still works – it’s a failure of the Input transmission sensor. (Part#04800878)

If your transmission goes into limp mode the engine light comes on and the speedometer does not work – it’s a failure of the Output transmission sensor. (Part# 04800879)
