here is one reason, Transmission Sensors went out, carry a spare set of sensors along with a 1″ six point deep well socket along with 3/8 drive small ratchet in your car.

The output sensor used to be manufactured in brass but later was manufactured in plastic.

Dealers say they have been replacing a number of them lately due to heat failure.

The plastic thermal characteristics are not as good as the brass ones were.

If your tranny goes into limp mode, engine light comes on but the speedo still works?

Answer: The input sensor (Part#04800878) on the 42LE Prowler tranny has malfunctioned
